The response could be a legislative response (laws created to deal with the problem), a law enforcement response (how police are attempting to control the problem), or a court-based response (how judg‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‍‍es are punishing those who contribute to the problem). It is recommended that you focus on one type of response across all jurisdictions (. three court-based responses) to write a concise and well-articulated brief. This brief requires you to clearly present the crime problem and responses so that they can be understood by anyone who is not a specialist. This may require you to draw on census data (where available and applicable) and other official statistics including police, correctional, government or NGO data, to help describe the crime problem, responses, and contexts.
