Physical examination reveals blood pressure 120/70, pulse 72, respiratory rate 10, and temperature 97.8. HEENT examination is within normal limits. Neck is supple, without JVD, lymphadenopathy, carotid bruits, or thyromegaly. Lungs are clear, and heart reveals regular rhythm without murmurs, gallops or rubs. Abdomen is soft, non-tender, non-distended, with normoactive bowel sounds. GU exam is normal, and prostate exam is normal. Extremities are warm, dry, with intact pulses. Neurological examination reveals no gross deficits.
Initial laboratory studies reveal normal CBC and blood chemistries. Total cholesterol is 220, with LDL of 145 and HDL of 40. Serum TSH is 11.2 mIU/L. Free T4 is normal.
